Cross-border rounds, accreditation rules and evidence gaps, and how each one shaped the product.
We built FounderGrade for MENA first, and the design follows from what the region actually looks like rather than what a Delaware-shaped platform assumes.
Why the Region Shapes the Product
- Cross-border rounds are the norm, not the exception, so jurisdiction handling cannot be an afterthought
- Investor accreditation rules differ sharply between the UAE, KSA, Egypt and the wider region
- Founders frequently raise from angels and family offices with no fund infrastructure behind them
- Verified traction evidence is harder to assemble where payment and accounting stacks are fragmented
What That Means in the Product
Cross-border rounds, accreditation rules and evidence gaps, and how each one shaped the product.

Accreditation is a first-class surface rather than a checkbox. Escrow releases are structured around milestone evidence a small team can actually produce. Reviewer assignment considers language and regional operating experience, not only sector.
Where We Are
We are pursuing a DFSA Innovation Testing Licence in DIFC, Dubai. We are not currently licensed or regulated by the DFSA and we do not describe ourselves as such. US and India expansion is planned through partner-routed structures with locally licensed counterparties.
We have not launched, so we are not publishing outcome data. When we have results worth reporting, they will be reported with their method attached.
